Wayanad Muslim Orphanage is an institution based in Wayanad district, Kerala, India. The orphanage is located in serene backdrop of the lush green village, Muttil near Wayanad district headquarters Kalpetta. WMO, the orphanage as is widely called, houses Schools, College, Foster Home, Crèche, Academy for Islamic Studies, Special School for visually challenged and hearing impaired et al. WMO was established in 1967 under the leadership of Syed Abdul Rahman Bafaqi with a few children and it now gives food, clothes, shelter and protection to nearly 800 orphans and destitutes. It runs about 20 educational institutions apart from the charity outfits and small scale industrial firms. The orphanage has been playing a vital role in improving the social and economical status of the Muslim community and the society at a whole in Wayanad district. It has ventured out a crusade against dowry system that prevails apparently in the society and has organised several sans dowry wedding fetes in connection to that. This institution is managed and looked after by M.A Mohammed Jamal for over decades. ==Motto==
"Respect the Child as a Person" is the motto of WMO as it believes that child is the father of man and hence the fate of man depends on the future of children. So that protecting a progressive environment for children is a social responsibility.
